From Adam to Jesus

Adam was formed, the Man of dust,In him the story of us all must trust.Then Seth, the Appointed, took his place,In Enosh, the Mortal, we saw our race.

With Kenan, there came Sorrow's tear,Yet Mahalalel taught us Praise so clear.Jared did Descend from heaven's height,And Enoch, the Dedicated, walked in light.

Methuselah's death would Bring the flood,While Lamech, Powerful, shed tears in blood.But in Noah, we found our Rest,Through waters deep, God showed his best.

From Shem, a Name known far and wide,While Ham in Heat would not abide.Japheth, with Expansion, stretched afar,And Abraham, Father of Multitudes, shone like a star.

With Isaac, Laughter filled the skies,But Jacob, the Supplanter, sought the prize.Esau was Hairy, wild, and free,While Judah's name brought Praise to be.

Joseph, in dreams, saw God Add more,Benjamin, the Son of the Right Hand he bore.Moses, the one Drawn Out from reeds,Aaron, a Mountain who intercedes.

Joshua, whose name means Salvation’s claim,Gideon, the Feller, brought down shame.Then Ruth, the loyal Friend, so true,And David, the Beloved king we knew.

Solomon brought Peace to reign,Elijah cried, “Yahweh is my gain!”Elisha, too, spoke of God’s Salvation,And Isaiah proclaimed Yahweh's Exaltation.

Jeremiah told of God’s great plan,Ezekiel saw the Strength of man.Daniel, the judge, in faith did stand,Hosea called us to Salvation's land.

Amos bore a Burden great,Obadiah served at Yahweh's gate.Jonah, the Dove, sailed far away,But Micah asked, "Who is like Yahweh today?"

Nahum whispered words of Comfort near,Habakkuk's Embrace held fast through fear.Zephaniah saw Yahweh hidden still,And Haggai called to Festive will.

Zechariah, Yahweh Remembers, true,While Malachi, Messenger, brought news anew.In Mary, Beloved, hope took flight,Elizabeth, whose oath was God’s delight.

John, the one Gracious in God’s name,Peter, the Rock, in faith he came.Paul, once Asked For, now proclaimed,Timothy with Honor, unashamed.

Titus, a Title of Honor bold,Stephen, crowned with faith untold.Philip, the Lover of Horses, strong,And Matthew, God’s Gift, carried on.

Mark, the Hammer, forged in might,Luke, from Lucania, spread the light.Eleazar, Helped by God's sure hand,Matthan, God’s Gift, took his stand.

At last Jacob, Supplanter brave,And Joseph, whom God would Add to save.Yet in Jesus, The Lord is Salvation’s name,The story ends, but the hope remains the same.

From Adam to Jesus, through trials and tears,God's hand has guided through countless years.Each name a story, each name a flame,That lights the path to His holy name.
